VERITAS CHRISTIAN ACADEMY: 42
The HCA Knights JV boys basketball team took on Veritas Christian Academy in Asheville Monday afternoon for a non-conference game. In the 22 - 42 loss, the Knights were much improved from their first game of the season. They turned a slow start in the first quarter into a competitive game. Defensively, 8th grader, Tate Sigmon came alive with two blocked shots and he disrupted many more shots. Tate, along with fellow 8th grader, Matt Auten, and sophmore, Hunter Sjobom were involved in forcing turnovers from Veritas. Hunter Sjobom led the team in scoring with 13 points. 8th grader, Micah Herndon, sophmore, Marcus Allison, and Hunter Sjobom led the team in rebounding with 4 each. The growth is already showing with this team. The JV Knights take on Forsyth Home Educators next on November 21 in Winston-Salem.
