The Knights of Hickory Christian Academy took on the Warriors of Veritas Christian Academy Monday evening in Asheville for a non-conference match-up. The Knights won the first quarter 15 - 10. They won the second quarter by 4 and increased their lead to 9. Veritas Christian held HCA to 7 points in the 3rd quarter while scoring 15 of their own to bring the score to within 1 to start the fourth quarter. The Knights scored 18 in the 4th while Warriors scored 12, giving the Knights the 48 - 55 victory which was their first win of the season. This puts the Knights record at 1 - 1. Senior guard, Eli Sigmon, led the Knights with 35 points. He also added 4 rebounds, an assist, and forced 6 turnovers in the game. Junior forward, Andy Cook, also had an outstanding game. He added 11 points, 9 rebounds, and forced 2 turnovers. Other Knights' scorers were Tim Tysinger, 2; Aiden Smith, 2; Tommy McGrath, 1, and Jack McMahon 4. HCA will play again Monday, November 27 against Challenger Early College High School.
