Hickory Christian Academy traveled to Sanford, NC to play Grace Christian in the first round of the NCISAA 1A state playoffs. The Knights opened up the first quarter with 17 points and a 3 point lead. HCA only scored 7 points in the second quarter and allowed 16 to go into halftime down by 6. The Knights came back with a 20 point third quarter, and the game was tied going into the fourth. HCA started the fourth quarter on a 9-0 run by converting on 3 3-point shots. The Knights finished made the fourth quarter their best of the game by scoring 29 points and giving up only 15. The 73-59 win moves HCA onto the second round of the playoffs where they will play Victory Christian in Charlotte. Senior guard, Eli Sigmon, led all scoring with 31 points. Sigmon added 4 steals and 4 deflections. Junior forward, Andy Cook, put up another double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Cook added 4 assists and 3 blocks. Junior forward, Jack McMahon, also had a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists.
