WESTMINSTER CATAWBA CHRISTIAN SCHOOL: 0
On a warm, sunny day @ 2A Westminster Catawba Christian School, located in Rock Hill, SC the Knights continued their winning ways staying unbeaten against South Carolina schools by a score of 4-0. Today's victory gives the Knights a 3-0 start to the season with the next game this Friday at the Shuford Conover YMCA @ 4:00. The game, 1.5 hours away, was well attended by the HCA faithful fans giving the Knights a home away from home atmosphere.
The knights first struck gold at the 15 minute mark as senior left wing Tommy McGrath used one of his signature moves and quickly went past the defender en route to an easy goal. Getting credit for the assist was 8th grade forward Braden Runyon. Not to be out done, Gabe Walker proceeded to give the Knights the next two scores (@ 33 and 63 minute marks) with both assists coming by way of junior Will Lehman, taking the score to 3-0. Next up in the scoring column was 8th grader forward Braden Runyon who punched it in on a breakaway score at the 75 minute mark. Receiving credit for the assist was junior forward Gabe Walker.
Junior forward Gabe Walker received the battle ball, a Hickory Christian tradition that recognizes the player exhibiting greatest effort. The junior forward not only contributed with two scores and one assist, he kept his teammates involved with crafty passing and unselfish play throughout the contest.
