Offensively the Knights were led by junior forward Gabe Walker with 4 goals, freshman Garrison Mullis 2 goals, freshman Braden Runyon 1 goal, junior Aedan Arnot 1 goal, senior Eli Sigmon 1 goal, and senior Aiden Smith 1 goal. Receiving credit for top honors in the assist category were junior Gabe Walker with 3 assists. Defensively the Knights held the visitors to just one shot on goal which was stopped by a heads up play by junior goalie Owen Duncan.

Coach Josh Walker notified the team during his post game speech that the Knights wrapped up the month of August with 6 wins, no losses and 1 tie giving the Knights the schools first undefeated opening month of the season since 2008, 10 years in the making. Now that's quite an accomplishment!

Receiving the Knights Battle Ball, a Hickory Christian Academy tradition recognizing the player(s) that show the best overall effort were Garrison Mullis and Wyatt King. Both players were in sync together on the offensive front line, working the ball into the open areas, possessing and distributing and aggressively attacking the goal. The future for these two freshman looks bright as they will continue to solidify an already formidable attack for years to come.

The Knights next contest is after the labor day break, returning to action on Thursday, September 7th @ 4:00 as they travel to Woodlawn School.
