KNIGHTS REMAIN UNDEFEATED, CAPTURE 3-1 VICTORY OVER WOODLAWN SCHOOL: 7-0-1 Overall, 2-0 Southern Piedmont Athletic Association (SPAA)

MOORESVILLE, NC- On a day the Knights were forced to rest several key players due to injury (Tommy McGrath, Wil Lehman, Caleb McMurray), it took a total team effort to secure the road win by a score of 3-1. Being one game shy of the midseason point the Knights are poised to turn up the intensity and focus on taking care of business one game at a time.

Offensively the Knights saw three players contribute in the scoring column. Junior Gabe Walker, Senior Aiden Smith and 8th Grader Braden Runyon each made goal.

Defensively the Knights held the hosts to just one shot on goal, using a smothering defensive effort that allowed a return back to Hickory with the 2nd conference win in as many games.

Coach Josh Walker was pleased with the victory and looking forward to getting healthy prior to next weeks key matchup against conference foe Statesville Christian Academy. The match between the two rivals will be played at Statesville Christian Academy next Tuesday, September 12th with a 4:00 start.

Receiving the Knights Battle Ball, a Hickory Christian Academy tradition recognizing the player(s) that show the best overall effort were Eli Simon and Aiden Smith. Both players were in sync together on the defensive side, seemingly never tiring and touching every blade of grass on the pitch. There relentless efforts would eventually seal the fate for Woodlawn.
