Boys Varsity Basketball vs. University Christian School

The Hickory Christian Academy Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated SPAA Conference rival University Christian High School 58-44 Tuesday night at the Tate Center.  The Knights were led by Senior Andy Cook, who had 21 points.  Junior Will Miller scored 16, Hunter Sjobom had 8, and Seniors Luke Harris and Owen Duncan added 5 each.  The Knights improve their record to 11-7 overall and 4-2 in the conference.  HCA will host Challenger Friday evening at the Tate Center for the finale in the 2019 Coaches vs Cancer event.  Friday will also be Senior Night.

The Hickory Christian Academy Knights defeated the Asheville Trailblazers Friday night 66-37 at the Tate Center in a non-conference game.  The Knights were led in scoring by Junior guard Will Miller, who had 20 points.  Hunter Sjobom had 14 points including 3 three-pointers, and Senior Andy Cook added 12 points in the victory.  The Knights are now 10-6 on the season, and 8-3 at home.  Hickory Christian will travel to Davidson Day Monday for a non-conference matchup and then return home again Tuesday to the Tate Center.

The Hickory Christian Academy Men’s Varsity Basketball team cruised to a 76-26 victory in non-conference home matchup Thursday night against the Carolina Gladiators.  Andy Cook, Hunter Sjobom, and Will Miller had 16 points each and Luke Harris added 14.  With the win, the Knights improve to 9-6 on the season.  They host the Asheville Trailblazers Friday night at 7pm at the Tate Center at Old Hickory Mill.

The Hickory Christian Academy Men’s Varsity Basketball Knights lost a tough SPAA conference matchup 69-45 Tuesday night at Victory Christian in Charlotte.  HCA Junior guard, Hunter Sjobom led all scorers with 18 points, including four 3-Pointers.  Senior, Andy Cook added 9 and Junior, Marcus Allison came off the beach in the second half to score 6.  The Knight are now 3-2 in conference play and 8-6 overall.  Hickory Christian’s Varsity teams will play at home both Thursday and Friday evenings at the Tate Center at Olde Hickory Mill.

Win: 59 - 52
The Hickory Christian Academy Knights Men’s Basketball team pulled off a huge home upset Wednesday night against the highly ranked Asheville Christian Academy Lions, 59-52. The Knights set the tone early with a couple of quick baskets down low by Andy Cook and Will Miller, then a couple of threes by Jack McMahon.  Hickory Christian was leading at the end of the 1st quarter and never looked back.  Jack McMahon led all scorers with 27 points, including 8 three pointers.  Senior, Andy Cook and Junior, Will Miller each had 13 points.  Hunter Sjobom added 8 points, including 5 big free throws in the 4th that helped seal the win.  Owen Duncan scored 2 points, played solid D, and pulled down key rebounds on offense and defense.  Senior, Jake Auten and Freshman, Braden Runyon both contributed strong defense coming off the bench.  This win brings the Hickory Christian Knights record to 5-3, with a current 5 game win streak.  The Knights play again at home this Friday at the Tate Center against the Carolina Gladiators at 7pm.
Boys Varsity Basketball vs. Veritas Christian Academy

Win: 38 - 18
The HCA Varsity Boys picked up their second consecutive victory Friday, defeating Veritas Christian Academy 38-18 in a non-conference away matchup. The Knights will play at Westminster Catawba in Rock Hill, SC this Thursday at 7:00pm.

The HCA Knights Boys Varsity team picked up their first victory of the season this evening in a non-conference matchup with Salem Baptist Christian School, defeating them 66-51.  Andy Cook led the scoring with 22 points, while Luke Harris and Will Miller each had 11 points.  Jack McMahon and Hunter Sjobom added to the total by each hitting 3 three pointers.  The Knights have an away non-conference game at Veritas Christian Academy in Fletcher, NC Friday evening.
